Why is this transcription tool free?
Nomira Digital builds websites and growth systems for small businesses, creators and clinics. We made this tool free because good transcripts should not be locked behind a paywall: students, podcasters, YouTubers, journalists and small teams deserve the same fast, accurate speech-to-text that big companies pay for.
You get 3 free transcriptions every 24 hours, no signup, no credit card and no watermark on your exports. Need more? Unlimited removes the limit. If the tool saves you time, we hope you will remember us when you need a website that works as hard as you do.
How to convert audio or video to text
- Add your file or link. Upload an audio or video file, or paste a public YouTube, Dropbox or Google Drive link.
- Pick a language and mode. Leave the language on Auto detect, or choose it for the best accuracy. Cheetah is fast and accurate, Lightning is the quickest, Rocket gives the highest accuracy.
- Edit and export. Read the transcript with timestamps, fix any word, then download it as PDF, Word (DOCX), TXT or SRT subtitles.

Frequently asked questions
Is this transcription tool really free?
Yes. You get 3 free transcriptions every 24 hours (up to 5 minutes each) with no signup, no credit card and no watermark. For unlimited transcriptions and files up to 10 hours, choose the Unlimited plan.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Just open the page and start. Your transcripts are saved in History on this browser so you can come back to them.
Can I transcribe a YouTube video?
Yes. Paste the link of any public YouTube video in “Import from Link”. Private, unlisted and live videos cannot be transcribed.
Can I transcribe Instagram, Facebook or TikTok videos?
Not by link yet. Save the video to your phone or computer and upload the file. It works the same way.
Which file types and how long can a recording be?
Most audio and video formats work, including MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV and MKV, up to 3 hours per file. Long recordings are split and processed in parallel, so even an hour of audio is usually done in a minute or two.
Which languages are supported?
More than 80, including English, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, Bengali, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Choosing the language instead of Auto detect gives the best results.
How accurate is the transcription?
Clear speech with little background noise gives very accurate results. Accents, music or several people talking at once can cause mistakes, so the editor lets you fix any word before you export.
Can I make subtitles (SRT)?
Yes. Every transcript has timestamps, and you can download SRT or VTT files to upload to YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo or your video editor.
Is my file private?
Video files are converted to audio inside your browser, so the video itself is never uploaded. Audio is deleted automatically after 72 hours and transcripts after 90 days, and you can delete them yourself at any time.
Which formats can I download?
PDF, Word (.docx), plain text (.txt) and subtitles (.srt). You can also copy the whole text with one click.
